Why can I still see and feel the dorsal bump after rhinoplasty? (Photo)

A bump on the dorsum after a rhinoplasty could possibly be:1)  Swelling2)  Callous3)  Remnant bony humpThe nose will still change up to 1 year after surgery.  Before considering a revision rhinoplasty, the nose has to have time to
completely heal and allow for swelling to resolve. The bump may go away overtime but if it does not you could consider a minor procedure to fix it.  I recommend patients waiting
at least one year after a rhinoplasty before considering a revision rhinoplasty
surgery.

The nose will continue to change over the next 4-5 months.  It is too early to make any judgment calls with respect to a persistent dorsal hump.  Callous formation, swelling, and inadequate hump reduction call contribute to hump formation.  Ptosis of the nasal tip will also cause the perception of a dorsal hump.

Give it some time.  It is still too early to tell because there can still be some swelling and inflammation where the bump was taken down.
