Can a breast lift be performed on only one side?

Question

I was wondering if it were possible to have a breast lift on only one side? I really love the size and shape of my right breast but my left breast hangs a bit lower and slightly out to the side :( would this be cheaper than getting both lifted?

If you like the smaller/higher breast then it is absolutely possible to lift only the other one. It may not be a perfect match but should be better.

Hi there and thanks for your question! Yes, it is possible to get one breast lifted while not lifting the other.  This is very common among patients who are asymmetric.  I suggest seeing an experienced plastic surgeon to determine whether you are a good candidate for a one-sided lift .  Best of luck!

Women’s breasts have some degree of asymmetry. Some may be more noticeable than others.  
  
A breast asymmetry correction may be needed to correct the asymmetry. In most cases, this surgery may or may not involve correction in both breasts. For example, large breasts can be reduced to a more manageable size, but the amount of reduction might differ between each breast if one happens to be naturally larger than the other. The same can be said if a person wants to augment their small breasts to a larger size: one might be augmented more than the other.
  
You should visit a board certified plastic surgeon for proper assessment. Make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Yes, it’s absolutely possible to undergo a breast lift on only one side of your body. In fact, this is a common option for women who want to treat an asymmetry. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your description, you may benefit from a breast lift on your left breast only.  This can be designed to result in an
improved shape and contour of your breasts while minimizing scar
appearance.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and evaluate their results.  The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a

Hi, great question. The answer is yes, of course, and if you have insurance maybe you are covered to have the single breast lift surgery. The only thing is and this should be discussed with your plastic surgeon, is there enough breast tissue and volume in the ptotic breast, the breast that hangs down and out to match the preferred breast. Thank you for your question. It is possible to get a lift performed only on one side to become symmetric. It is important to take into consideration the details in the differences between the two breast. If the breast you'd like to operate on is bigger than the other, some tissue may need to be removed. If the breast being lifted is smaller than the other, you may have the option to fat graft to that breast as well. Sometimes, when people who are interested in implants are asymmetric different sizes of implants may be used in addition to the one sided lift, etc. I recommend visiting a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss in detail what your goals are. You can absolutely have surgery on only one breast to try to match the other one.  The aim would be to get you as symmetrical as possible in terms of size & shape. Obviously you would only have scars on one side though!  All the best
