Can I take whey protein right after rhinoplasty?

I'm soon having a nose job , but I'm a kind of fitness freak and I want to make sure I won't lose any muscle. However, I heard taking protein can cause swelling and bleeding. Is it true or it's just a myth?

Great question. Congratulations on your upcoming procedure. I have not seen protein intake directly connected with bleeding. However, every surgeon has their own post op protocols. I will suggest contacting your surgeon's office for further post op details.

I cannot see any reason for you to avoid protein intake after surgery.  In fact, protein will likely allow your body to heal quicker. That being said, I recommend you discuss specific post op restrictions with your surgeon as each has their own guidelines.

In my opinion, it would be fine for you to have whey protein after a rhinoplasty.  This should not cause swelling or bleeding.

Well balanced diet is very important in post-operative period. Every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
