Unfortunately, insurance does not cover a tummy tuck. Occasionally with documentation of recurrent infection they will pay for a panniculectomy (simply removing loose skin).#tt#tummytuck
You will have to consult your insurance provider to find out if your tummy tuck is covered. However, in general, the answer would be no unless it would resolve a physical impairment directly caused by excess skin and fat as well as separated muscles in the area you want to target, and a tummy tuck is proven to be the most suitable treatment for you.
A tummy tuck is considered an elective procedure and therefore is unlikely to be covered by any medical insurance. If you have any medical complications see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can help you determine if you should try to get coverage. Good luck!
Insurance companies do not cover cosmetic procedures such as tummy tuck.Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of tummy tucks and body contouring procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
Thanks for your question. Insurance companies do not consider tummy tucks "medically necessary". It is however a great procedure.
Insurance rarely covers tummy tuck except in cases where it affects your health. If you have had 3 months of skin infections and have been to the doctor and prescribed medication that fails to correct the problem, insurance may cover removal of the excess skin if it covers the pubic area. Check your exact plan language, but this is the requirement for most plans.Remember that most tummy tucks include skin removal PLUS muscle tightening, new belly button, pubic lift as needed, and all associated areas of liposuction on the tummy. Insurance considers all of the PLUS things cosmetic and will not cover them.
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is an elective cosmetic operation not covered by insurance. Even after massive weight loss (such as after gastric bypass), or the stretching of the abdominal wall with twins or multiple births, tummy tuck is still considered cosmetic. Insurance will usually cover hernia repair, but this will also be performed by a general surgeon who will use a scar directly over the hernia--NOT a tummy tuck approach or an aesthetic improvement, just repair of the hernia. Panniculectomy (surgical removal of the fatty skin "apron" that hangs over the pubic area) is sometimes covered if there is medically-documented problem with infections or non-healing wounds from skin chafing, but panniculectomy is NOT a cosmetic tummy tuck, and if you want a better-looking, tighter abdomen, abdominoplasty by an ABPS-certified plastic surgeons will be necessary. The average cost for tummy tuck in the MInneapolis area is around $9000, but exact quotes will require consultation by ABPS-certified plastic surgeons in your area. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen.
Cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. If you want cosmetic surgery please seek a consultation with a well respected plastic surgeon in your area. God Luck!
Unfortunately tummy tucks or abdominoplasty is generally a non-covered surgery. If you have bad scarring or skin breakdown, they may cover a scar revision but not the tummy tuck. I would recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.
Thank you for the question.Unfortunately, plastic surgery is not covered by insurance. Ask your plastic surgeon to see any other options.Dr. Campos
Without knowing all the details of your surgery (and surgeon) I can only give you general information. However, draining 410cc of fluid 3 weeks post-op sounds problematic to me. Here's why:Did you have drain(s)? If so, how long has it been since drain removal? You didn't develop 410cc in a day...
Hi .You do not really give us a lot of information but based on the pics I do not see why you couldn't get the price that you are looking for . This is if medical information is all ok .
I agree, there is a possibility of some bruising and/or a torn stitch. I would recommend a follow up visit with your surgeon. An exam would be needed to know for sure.
