I am seeing hair along with scabs falling off after. Is this something I should worry about? (Photos)

It is normal to shed transplanted hairs days to weeks after surgery.  The new hairs may take 6 to 12 months to grow.

It is normal and should be expected for the transplanted grafts to shed the scabs and hair at 2 weeks post-op. This is due to the tissue entering its dormant cycle, which normally last 3 months. The permanent hair growth should begin in about 2 1/2 months.

Transplanted graft’s hair starts to shedding in the first week of surgery and may go on untill 4-6 th weeks after surgery. İt is not surprising to lost approx.  %70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing  or touching the head. İt is shock loss and not permanent. Even your native hair may affected with that post traumatic transient hair loss…New hair at transplant and donor area starts to grow at 3-4 th month after surgery .

If you notice hair along with scabs this is normal, as they tend to shed in the initial months after the surgery. 

It is common and expected to lose the transplanted hairs in the first month. Schedule a follow up with your hair transplant doctor to see about cleaning the area of scabs at the 2 week mark. 

Crusts can come off anytime in the first 8 weeks and they often contain hairs but there is nothing to worry about
