Question

I am 26 years old and I have hollowness under my eyes that bothers me everyday. I wanted to explore all my options and wanted to know before surgery or fillers if there is anything I can do to improve the area such as a chemical peel, laser treatment or micro needling. I would appreciate any tips or advice

You are right to be hesitant to jump to fillers or surgery for under eye hollows. Fillers under the eyes are not one of my favorite procedure because the results can be unpredictable. Prolonged swelling and discoloration are common in this area because even a small amount of swelling from reaction to fillers in this area can be exaggerated due to the tight space and the thin skin in the area can cause light to reflect off the fillers in a way that causes a bluish discoloration. PRP or PRF injections into the tear troughs combined with micro needling is an excellent option with minimal risk of side effects.

At home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella​), lasers (Moxi/Halo/Fraxel/CO2​), Renuvion (J-Plasma), microneedling/PRP, stem cells and microneedling RF like Fractora PiXel8 or Morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. Hi @Affectionate515552. You are a great candidate for tear trough fillers to help with the hollowness you are experiencing in your tear trough area. However, if you are hesitant about dermal fillers, you can consider PRP injections. However, this will not address volume loss.  PRP which stands for Platelet Rich Plasma is a natural and non-surgical solution to treat under eye circles and bags. PRP is highly effective for restoring sunken eyes.  Generally, two vials of blood will be collected from the patient and placed into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins and separates the platelets from the rest of the blood components. The plasma contains the valuable collagen and growth factors from the rest of the blood's components. The plasma is then drawn up into a syringe and injected in the tear trough area. Typically, 3 sessions is adequate for optimal results.

Hi, For the hallowness you can try chemical peel, laser treatment or micro needling all . They all can treat quality of your skin but for hallowness best is dermal fillers. You are a good candidate for under eye filler but you are a great candidate for PRFM (platelet-rich fibrin matrix). We would take your blood and spin it down into PRFM which has more rejuvenative ability than PRP (platelet-rich plasma) by itself. This will stimulate Collagen production under your skin and improves the area long term. You will likely need 2 treatments of PRFM for a more pronounced effect but it lasts for quite a while because it actually improves you from the inside out. Fillers will wear off in 9 months to a year, or less in some cases.

At our practice, we have several different treatment options for under eye hollowness, ranging from dermal fillers, laser treatments and more. 
I would first recommend a series of Pelleve radiofrequency treatments to build collagen and reduce fines lines in the delicate under eye area. PRP injections would also be a good option. PRP is a form of cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the client’s own platelet rich plasma. The plasma contains cytokines and growth factors. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin production.
For a more aggressive treatment plan, I would recommend the TotalFX CO2 laser. This laser is highly effective in resurfacing the skin and building collagen in the treated area. TotalFX can help with under eye darkness, texture, wrinkles.

I would try an eye cream called Lumiere from Neocutis that contains growth factors, caffeine, peptides, and moisturizers daily.

Platelet richplasma (PRP) or Platelet Rich Plasma (PRF) can also help these areas. I like to combine a filler called Belotero or Volbella with PRP/PRF in this area.
