Derma filler long-term effects? I’m 42 and considering having dermafiller on my nasolabial folds. 1. Will my skin sag overtime after getting fillers? 2. Answer: Need for Future Filler after Initial Filler When fillers are injected properly they do not stretch the skin. They only replace volume that has been lost by aging. They also stimulate collagen production so the body makes more tissue, actually replacing some of what you are trying to fill. Therefore, you actually need less filler in the future in the area where it is placed. The only time you need more is when the aging process continues and you need it elsewhere. In the person in the bottom photos in the attached link I used the same amount of filler the second time 5 years later. However, she required half the filler we first used in the same area with the rest more laterally in a newly depleted area.
