Maybe you can see someone at the hair salon for a blow out or conditioning. Those are all temporary.
I am sorry to inform you that more than likely there will be little improvement with this hair texture. These are tough problems, sometimes avoidable by careful graft handling (it seems that drying out is a main cause of this happening but not always due to this). You can try applying a strong conditioner- olive oil, believe it or not- can be very effective.
This can sometimes happen after a transplant and ti can take a few years to normalize. Some people have found it helps to use a blow dryer.
Unfortunately, this happens to a few people and when it does, I generally tell the patient to wait out a full hair cycle which is usually 3 years or so. You can ask your hair stylist for way to reduce the curl and texture of your hair as there are many products sold that might help you while you wait out the 3 year cycle.
To keep the integrity and genetic structure of the hair, one must make sure that every precaution is taken in handling the grafts during the procedure. If the grafts are not handled properly in every step of the procedure, then the texture or the structure of the hair may be compromised. Sometimes, initially when the hair starts to grow in it looks a bit different. However overtime it returns to its original texture. If it doesn't then the grafts may have been handled improperly. You need to be patient a few more months and then follow up with your doctor.
This may be a problem due to improper graft planting technique. Hair transplantation is a very precise procedure and proper handling of grafts as well as proper placement technique will ultimately affect the outcome. In general, if grafts are buckled during placement the hairs will grow curly at first and sometimes striaghten with time. Additionally, grafts should not be implanted with a machine such as Neograft as control of depth of graft placement is lost. Please see your surgeon for review.
Always check with your doctor if you are planning to use drugs or supplements after surgery. It may not damage the grafts but you should keep your doctor in the loop.
