Transplanted hairs can be removed but it may leave some scarring. Everyone heals and scars differently. These are all risks you have to outweigh before having a procedure.
Yes you can. Transplanted hair could be removed like normal hair. If it is pigmented, laser can easily remove them. For white hair other methods could be used such as electrolysis or FUE methods of extraction.
You'll want to speak with a physician who specializes in laser hair removal, such as a cosmetic dermatologist. The answer to your question is that it is possible but has its own set of challenges. Laser hair removal is not a one time thing but may take many treatments to actually remove all the hairs. Success depends on the type of hair you have, color of hair and color of skin. In the right hands, it can be very successful.
There are many ways to remove hair transplants. In the days before modern hair transplants when plugs were common, I used to cut them out, one at a time. With big plugs that was never a problem, just time consuming and costly. Now there are other ways to remove transplants but they all run the risks of scarring, these techniques include lasers, FUE per graft, large excisions of groups of grafts which work well in hairlines and leave minimal scars, but they do scar. Not an easy problem. Best, never do a hair transplant unless you are sure of your doctor and your procedure.
We do have some patients that come to our office that have done bad transplants else where and want to remove and re construct. We usually use extraction technique to remove the hair, and if they need to reconstruct we do it around the extraction.
