The results of alaser resurfacing treatment are not technically considered permanent, but thelongevity of your results can be prolonged with good upkeep. Other factors, such as genetic disposition, geographic location, and sun exposure also play arole in how well your results last after the procedure. And, though the resultsare considered long-lasting in the relative scope of cosmetic treatment, manypatients opt in for additional laser resurfacing treatment to maintain theeffectiveness of their initial results.
Thank you for your question. Laser resurfacing is an appropriate treatment for certain types of acne scars. There are many types of lasers available that have their own benefits depending on the clinical situation (such as depth of scar, amount of fibrosis, and skin type of patient). Surgical approaches also have a place for some acne scars. The improvement can be significant but facial skin is continually changing with age. I hope this helps!
Acne scars treatments will continue to improve you facial scarring. Results last, but you may need additional procedures in the future. In our office, we use a combination of sublative, ablative, and fractional lasers; chemical peels, and topical therapy. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Thank you for your question! Laser can provide great long lasting softening for acne and scarring may be repeated years later if desired.
Treatment of acne scarring can involve laser skin resurfacing. To achieve best results may or may not require treatments other than laser resurfacing. The duration of effect of treatments will depend on the nature of your scarring and what type of treatment you undergo in order to correct.
Laser resurfacing is agreat way to smooth certain types of acne scars. There are many types of lasersavailable that can provide noticeable results; however, no cosmetic treatmentof the face is permanent. Your skin is constantly changing as you age, and manydifferent factors play a part in how your skin will look in the future. Thebest way to prolong the effects of a laser treatment is to take good care ofyour skin. Habits such as sun exposure or smoking will age the skin morerapidly, and genetics play a part as well, especially when it comes to poresize. Laser resurfacing can diminish acne scars, but it can’t prevent futureoutbreaks. That being said, laser resurfacing is one of the best andlongest-lasting means of dealing with acne scars. I would recommend anin-person consultation with a qualified dermatologist to assess your skin anddetermine the best kind of laser to use and how long the effects are likely tolast given your skin care habits.
Thanks for the question, just like all aesthetic surgery the clock gets turned back but not off, the results will always make you look better but your skin will still have normal wear and tear
improvements are permanent but you will keep aging and along with that is laxity and changes in your skin.other options to consider are using radiofrequency which may do a better job for the scarring or used in combination with laser resurfacing to get the best resutls
Unfortunately nothing is permanent when it comes to our skin. You have to look at your skin in a similar way as you treat your hair and your nails; it needs constant maintenance. It also depends on what you are trying to treat. After multiple resurfacing treatments you can get a permanent reduction in acne scarring and pores as long as you are using proper product to maintain your results like Retin-A. However, fine lines and wrinkles will return with out maintenance treatments every 3-6 months depending on the type of laser.
This is a great question! Laser resurfacing, with a laser such as the Cortex, does achieve noticeable and long-lasting results, however, just like any other cosmetic procedure, the results are not permanent. Although results are not everlasting, the outcome can be extended with consistent skin care maintenance. This includes wearing sunscreen, moisturizing daily, keeping up with skin care treatments (i.e microdermabrasions, chemical peels, exfoliating), and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle. I suggest you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon to see if you are a good candidate for this procedure.
I really don’t have enough information to answer this but in no case do we recommend massage after resurfacing as you can damage the more fragile new skin.
For the first few days after a laser resurfacing people are happy because the swelling from the procedure will help the lines and wrinkles. Once the swelling goes down, you are often back to your baseline. The new collagen production which is stimulated by the laser...
Melasma can make your skin look mottled and hyperpigmented. Melasma is usually caused by endogenous and exogenous hormones, the sun, inflammation, and possibly thyroid dysfunction. I would use a combination protocol that includes topical Melarase creams first, followed by a combination of light...
