Does massaging help after resurfacing on the face?

Massage of the face is not necessary or helpful after resurfacing of the face.  Resurfacing affects the surface of the skin, while massaging is used for some treatments that affect the layers beneath the skin.

There is nothing that massage will help with after resurfacing.  We will often have patients massage a scar or areas of swelling after a surgery.  But with laser the effect is occurring within the skin and the massage will not alter that.

I really don’t have enough information to answer this but in no case do we recommend massage after resurfacing
as you can damage the more fragile new skin.
