When can I start shaving post chin implant surgery?

I had chin implant surgery recently where a medium implant was placed in a precise pocket under the chin (sub-mental). I am 12 days post operation and my beard has been annoying me. What are the risks involved in shaving near the chin implant area too soon and would tugging cause it to shift?

Good question.  The best answer will be from your surgeon.  In general I feel once the incisions are removed or dissolved, you can carefully shave.  Be careful of manipulating too much around the implant area.  12 days post op should be ok.

Shaving 12 days after surgery might be fine, but you should check with your surgeon first, since he or she best knows your bone structure and pocket construction.  If you have sutures visible on the surface, do not shave them off, or you could leave bits of them in the skin that will be hard to remove.
