I've heard chin implants are excellent for improving chin projection but can chin implants with 'wings' be used to improve the jawline and give it a more defined and wider look? Thanks
Answer: Chin implant with wings Most chin implants performed today have wings which gives patient's not only added projection, but increased width as well. Chin implants are manufactured in a large variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and are usually placed through a small incision underneath the chin as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. General anesthesia is an option, but it is more expensive. For diagrams of the implants themselves, more information and many examples, please see the video and the link below

Answer: Chin Implants While many of today's styles of chin implants do have extended wing on them, they do not create improved jawline width. The purpose of the wings is to help the chin implant blend into the side of the jawline without a noticeable step off. For what you want to achieve you either have to add jaw angle implants to a chin implant or have a custom jawline implant made for a more complete jawline effect.

Answer: Chin AliH123, It appears from your side photo that you would be an excellent candidate for an extended chin/jowl implant. See an expereiced expert that does "only faces". Search the Internet. Good luck!

Answer: Can a chin implant with wings improve lower jaw projection? Hi, I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is weak. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.Hope this helps.
