Do lateral canthopexies shorten the eyes like canthoplasties?

Canthopexy and canthoplasty technically aim similar things that is the re-location of the lateral canthal tendon. The difference is that in nathoplasty the ligament is cut and in canthopexy it is not cut but tightened. Vertical distance of the upper and lower eyelid margins may decrease, but the length (distance between inner and outer canthus) does not decrease in these operations.
