I am experiencing hives/ rash on my upper chest right above the implants and some hives that trickle down onto them. I have 350 cc silicone implants under the muscle and have now been off my pain meds/ antibiotics for about 4 days. What could be causing this reaction? Could it mean my body is allergic to the implant? Is this a normal reaction?

Answer: Rash after BA I see it happen occassionally. It goes away with time. If it’s unbearable your surgeon can order you a short course of steroids. Work closely with your surgeon!Best

Answer: Rash/hives on chest after BA: 1.5 weeks post op breast augmentation. It's not a normal reaction, but I think that it's unlikely to be related to your implants. I would contact your surgeon and let them know what's going on. They will be able to give you specific advice. The rash could be related to medication, tape, or the skin prep used during your surgery. Often times you never find out exactly what causes the rash, but it resolve completely without any treatment. Congratulations on your surgery!
