I had a lower bleph revision 4 days ago, first was 3 years ago. First bleph left me with big bags. Concerned new surgeon was too aggressive. Cant seem to get things right in the middle where I want them! Problem 1. Both eyes are retracting a small bit from the eyeball 2. The surgeon cut starting with my inner eye between the corner and the tear duct all the way out beyond corners. He did not explain the procedure this way. Will retraction get better with healing or do I face a 3rd procedure?

Answer: Four days after second lower blepharoplasty... Hi Juniebug, Sorry to hear of your concerns. But let me reassure you that it is too soon too tell and you need to let the healing take place. Swelling of the lower eyelids can sometimes cause some retraction. Follow closely with your surgeon to see if he/she recommends taping the lid 'up and out' or massaging the corners. Take it day by day-- unlikely that your surgeon would consider a lower lid tightening until you are close to fully healed, which will take up to six months. Best wishes, Dr. Jay

Answer: Eyelid retraction Hello Juniebug,It is too early to make that decision. Remember that you already had surgery once on your eyelids. It will take 3-6 weeks before answering that question. If things don’t resolve by then, a possible revision might need to be discussed with your surgeon. In the meantime have discussion with your surgeon on conservative measures to improve your condition like massage. It is hard to see the complete incision but this should be dicusssed as well. If there needs to be a revision, there are a few surgical options which your surgeon can recommend. Hope this helpsCheers
