Each plastic surgeon has their own guidelines for this, and these guidelines may change with each patient. Patients usually choose to sleep and a somewhat flexed position whether on their side or on their back, for the first week. After that, they seem much more inclined to sleep flat which has no bearing on their healing or final results.

I permit my patients to to lie in any position it makes them comfortable immediately after mommy makeover. However, this is a question that should be answered only by your surgeon.

Hello, the majority of my patients are laying flat by about a week after their makeover.  However, you should check with your plastic surgeon because everyone heals at a slightly different rate, and it is possible they have different advice.

These types of postoperative instructions are best run by your own plastic surgeon who may have his/her thoughts, knows you and how you are progressing, and is ultimately responsible for your care. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

If you were my patient I would tell you that laying flat at 3 weeks post op is fine.  Address this concern with your surgeon as he is monitoring your care.  Best to you!
