Do you typically discount multiple procedures performed at the same time?

Pricing will vary widely and discount policies for multiple procedures are different from practice to practice. Get a couple different quotes and go with the practice you feel most comfortable with.

Most reputable plastic surgeons will be honest and have full transparency when discussing surgical fees.  This includes what you are paying for such as facility fee, anesthesia, implants, and surgeon.  Most facilities and anesthesiologists have a start up cost and then time cost. You should expect to see savings when undergoing combined procedures.  In addition some offer discount for paying with cash versus financing.   Discuss this with your plastic surgeon.  If you are not offered multiple procedure discounts they should be able to explain why.  Then get another opinion.  Best of luck.

Generally when multiple surgical procedures are performed under the same general anesthetic, there is a discount since you are paying for one facility fee and one anesthesia fee. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon and meet with several plastic surgeons to find out more specific details.

Thank you for your excellent question.  Billing for surgery is typically comprised of anesthesia, facility, and surgeon's fees.  Though anesthesia and facility billing may be out of the purview of your surgeon, the way that they bill for their own fees is physician dependent.  Some may charge different fees on the same procedure based on the amount of work that may be entailed, or if it is one part of a package of procedures to be performed.  In my office, discounts are extended based on the number and types of procedures performed.  Hope this helps.  

Hi... thank you for the question... Generally more than discount, is that you just pay 1 anaesthesia fee for the mommy makeover, clinic, OR, garment and others.. than stead of paying it 3 times you just do it once.  

When considering plastic surgery the full cost consists of the total from three main areas. There are the surgeon's fees, anesthesia costs, and facility charges. If implants are involved or other miscellaneous items they are a separate charge. Each surgeon decides the fee they charge for a given procedure. Anesthesia and facility charges are based on time. There may be a benefit from a facility or anesthesia cost standpoint when combining procedures as the overall time in surgery may be less than if they are each performed separately.

It is very common that with a MM as a doctor you can combine procedures and make a package price for all. But of course it all depends on the surgeon and clinic that has your interested. I do feel that if you can combine in 1 surgery you will save fees for stay/anesthesia/supplies so you can definetly improve the price for the client as well. Best of luck

Many surgeons will offer discounts -- it is mainly for the supplies.  Also, there is a lot of variability in pricing from surgeon to surgeon.  So the quote you were given when all added together may be the same as someone else's "discount."  Go get a few more oppinions and compare apples to apples.  Ultimately, go with the surgeon that you feel will get you teh best result and will take care of you if anything unexpected araises.  Good luck!
