Question

5'9" 140 lb ; 39 y.o. (no children). Scheduled for Ideal structured saline uppers/sub-glandular. Goals: maintain perkiness, athletic build (enjoy weight lifting/sports) Initial thought was 300/325 range. Moderate/mod plus sizers fit frame best over high profile - but hard to translate to Ideal's options. PS suggested 335 Ideal implant max filled to 375. My diameter is 12.3. Appreciate comments with Ideal implant experience and recs on best fit/size. TY!

Because Ideal saline implants have only one profile, the most important aspect is the diameter. Going with the highest fill volume is a good idea to limit rippling. High profile is not usually the best for athletic women anyway. I think your plastic surgeon has made a good recommendation.

Ideal Implants are great. For women with small breasts and not too much soft tissue coverage, i recommend placing the implant in a submuscular position. The Ideal Implants can be a little palpable and more closely resemble a high profile implant. Good luck.

Thank you for your question.  I agree it's not possible to exactly translate sizing with silicone gel sizers to find the best Ideal implant for your body type, because their shape and even their sizing charts are different (most silicone gel companies measure their implants on a flat surface but Ideal measures their implant width on a curved surface). For the majority of my patients I recommend taking at least 0.5cm (about 1/4") off their breast base width when selecting the width of their implants, but choosing even smaller implants will have a lower risk of complications like seeing or feeling the edge of the implants.  Your surgeon will be your best source of advice because measuring breast width is a bit of an estimate (breasts don't have well-defined borders) and they will have their own sizing regimen that works well in their hands.  I hope your procedure goes well.
