For someone who exercises 4Xweek at moderate-high intensity & maintains clean diet 1. Since EMSculpt stimulates muscles at the intensity not naturally possible, does it reduce the effectiveness of regular workouts? 2. Would muscles in the treated area still respond to normal workout? 3. What is the impact if doesn't do additional maintenance EMSculpt treatments (but keeps up exercise & diet) 4. What is the recommended frequency of maintenance treatment for a healthy & fit person like above.
Answer: What are the long term effects of EMSculpt on a fit individual who works out regularly and keeps clean diet? Hi gymbomom,Great questions, all of which I have positive answers for and good news for you. Emsculpt builds muscle mass and reduces fat as well as decreasing the waist. Just today I had a patient thank us for her Emsculpt treatments, saying that she could not be happier with her results. She not only sees great improvement in her muscle tone of her abs and buttocks, but was especially thrilled that she is able to work out much better, stronger, and longer while feeling much more powerful. Emsculpt actually enhances the effectiveness of your regular workouts. Think of Emsculpt as an added benefit workout, you can and should continue your regular workouts and your muscles will respond even better than before your Emsculpt because of the increased size and number of muscle fibers. Maintenance Emsculpt treatments are encouraged to continue building muscle, but even without any further treatments beyond the first 4 in the series, muscle continues to build over 12 months. I recommend that my patients have their first single complimentary maintenance treatment at about 6 weeks. Beyond that it is up to the individual, Emsculpt can be like a "super" gym membership where my patients are allowed to return as they see fit...no pun intended. Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

Answer: Considering Emsculpt These are all great questions. For someone who is already fit, Emsculpt is the perfect treatment to maintain the results gained at the gym and/or a healthy lifestyle. Emsculpt will not reduce the efficacy of your workout but enhance the results. Your muscles will still respond to a normal workout. Emsculpt maintenance treatments are not necessary but are recommended. And lastly, the recommended treatment plan varies from patient to patient. Call to schedule an in-person consultation with your local provider to learn more about what's the right treatment plan for you. Best of luck!

Answer: EMSculpt First, EMSculpt does not reduce the effectiveness of regular workouts. Secondly, any muscle, whether it's been treated by EMSculpt or not will respond to exercise. Thirdly, we aren't completely sure what impact a lack of EMSculpt maintenance has on the muscles. Obviously, muscles that no longer are "worked" will shrink, but will the larger muscles that EMSculpt shrink if the patient continues to workout regularly, I don't think so. Lastly, we recommend a maintenance treatment every quarter, but if the patient is working out regularly do they truly need this maintenance treatment? We don't know.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa

Answer: EM Sculpt These are exactly the kinds of question I would like answered, and the kind that can only be answered after a large group of patients have been treated as part of a study. Those studies do not exist. Mainly, you have to rely on the advice of those who have just forked over $139,000.00 for the system. Or on the company's website, actress Drew Barrymore says "All the cool girls are doing it."Common sense would tell me that once you stop working the muscle at a given level, it will return to it's pre-treated condition.
