Yes, during a microneedling procedure we use thin, tiny needle pricks to the top layer of the skin. The damage helps to stimulate your skins collagen production and elastin. It is best to do a series of 3 treatments for best results!
Hi, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Yes, microneedling can help stimulate collagen production. Microneedling is great for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, skin laxity, and scarring. It's always a good idea to consult a licensed provider for a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs.
Hello, my name is Ranen and I work at Shah Aesthetics. Microneedling is a great way to stimulate collagen. Microneedling combined with exosomes or prp would be a boost to your treatment as well.
Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Microneedling absolutely willl help with that, but you have to be aware that you will likely need more than one session. I often tell patients if they have never done anything then they should expect at least 3-4 sessions spaced a month apart in the beginning and then they can enter a maintenance phase. With us starting to lose collagen as we enter our 30s, you probably need a fair amount of aggressive treatments to build up your collagen levels to make up for the past couple of decades, so be mindful of this and don't expect miracles with one treatment! Good luck! (btw, other options to consider would be sculptra/hyperdilute radiesse and if you can tolerate it, adding radiofrequency to the microneedling)
Yes, microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that's primarily used to minimize the signs of aging. During a microneedling procedure, your doctor makes small pricks under the skin with a device equipped with tiny needles. The purpose of the treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, and more toned skin. The body's wound healing response to the tiny injuries caused by the needles stimulates the growth of collagen, a protein that gives skin its elasticity and strength. However, results can vary based on factors such as the individual's skin type, age, and the specific skin concern being addressed. It's also worth noting that multiple sessions are usually needed to see significant results.
Yes, studies show that controlled injury to the dermal layer of the skin causes collagen regeneration and remodeling. It makes the skin thicker, tighter and healthier. If you could add radio frequency to microneedling (Scarlet RF Microneedling) and or platelet rich plasma to the injured skin, the results are even more superior.
Hello, thank you for your question! Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through this process, there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in acne, scars, pore size, and stretch marks. I would recommend having an in person consult with a certified injector!
