Will liposuction help prevent pressure ulcers and open wounds not due to diabetics ? (Photo)

Question

If you have chronic ulcers on your feet and one on your inner and outer thigh also hard lumpy saddle bags on thighs / over weight at 280 pounds - lupus/ and no spleen / will lupus suction of the abdomen/ thighs and buttocks stop you from getting more ulcers and these to go away? They started 3yrz ago and then it was one on top of each foot and then an absess on the ankle turned into one after antibiotics - a few months ago the 2 on the thigh appeared.

Liposuction is not for weight reduction.  The ulcers are due to weight baring properties of the body and its impact on vessels and healing.  Seek a wound care and vascular surgical expert, they can give you advice on how to lose weight and remove weight from your legs.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Liposuction is not a weight reduction procedure. Pressure ulcers or avoided by preventing persistent weight-bearing on a given part of the body regardless of body weight.

Unfortunately, liposuction will not improve your ulcers. I would recommend that you refrain from any cosmetic procedure until you have healed ulcers and are not taking any steroid medications.I recommend instead that you seek advice from your rheumatologist. I'm sorry to hear of your problems, and they are indeed difficult ones. Unfortunately liposuction wiould be of no benefit. You need to be under the care of a wound care specialist and clinic. They will be able to counsel you on prevention techniques.
