Fat transfer to the buttocks e.g Brazillian lift is becoming a very popular procedure. It is a technical procedure that involve both liposuction and fat transfer. An average of 400cc is needed on each size to be able to have a sizable difference.

The average time frame is 2-4 hours, depending on the amount needed for transfer. Average cost from 5-10k. Best of luck!

First, excess unwanted fat is harvested from the patient’s flank lumbar region, and occasionally the upper thighs using liposuction techniques. This part of the procedure not only provides the fat necessary for later injection, but also allows the plastic surgeon to sculpt and contour a beautiful silhouette around the buttocks. Before the actual Brazilian Butt Lift surgery your doctor will determine the optimal site from which to harvest fat, taking into consideration the patient’s stature, current shape, and desires. The collected processed fat is then placed in special cannulas and injected through two small incisions (less than 1-cm) into the superior-medial buttocks, just above the gluteal muscle. Studies utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to investigate fat survival following gluteal augmentation have shown that proper handling and placement of the fat in a supramuscular plane (i.e. above the muscle) is important to avoid cellular damage and ensure long-term, predictable graft survival. This part of the procedure allows your doctor to precisely place volume where it is needed to give the illusion of a “lift” while forming a sexy and well-proportioned buttocks, without the scars and extra surgery traditionally needed.

You are referring to a fat transfer procedure. This basically is liposuction, where the fat is processed rather than discarded, and then placed in the deficient areas. The problem with this is that the survival of the transferred fat is not that predictable. You may consider a tummy tuck which will accomplish all but the butt.

Fat transfer from a region of fat excess to an area of fat insufficiency has become extremely common over the last few years to achieve the best results in total body contouring. Often, the areas of fat excess include the abdomen and love handles, and the area of fat inadequacy is usually the buttocks. Fat transfer not only redistributes fat to achieve a more flattering body form that can't be achieved through diet and exercise, but it does so safely and with long term results. It is definitely possible to achieve an hourglass shape by the combination of liposuction of the torso and fat grafting of the buttocks.
In our practice we offer third part financing options through companies like Care Credit. The costs are dependent on the extent and complexity of the planned operation. Best of luck!

It is possible to take the fat from your abdomen to enhance your buttock, hips and overall shape however typically patients need more fat for their buttock augmentation than can be harvested just from the abdomen. Brazilian butt lift is so popular because it enables your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. Liposuction is performed over several areas depending on the individual patient needs, but typically of the flanks, abdomen, back and thighs. This liposculpting is what is going to enhance your overall figure!

The amount of fat needed depends on the shape and needs of each individual patient, however in general at least 500cc per buttock need to be placed to see a significant difference. On average patients typically receive around 800cc per buttock side for a total of 1600cc of fat transfer. However just like a breast augmentation the amount of fat needed various from patient to patients. Also the sculpting done with the liposuction is a big part of the procedure to improve the overall shape.

When considering this procedure it is very important that you have your procedure performed by a board certified plastic surgeon.

In general of the procedures that I perform this is one where patients tend to be universally extremely happy.

I hope this helps.

This is a routinely performed procedure and is a great way to get a "win-win," decreasing the size of a body region that you do not like and increasing another which could use it. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and it is safest to have this performed by a Board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this technique. The surgery must be performed in an accredited surgical facility for your safety. There is typically absorption of some of the fat infused into the buttock, but it is an excellent recipient site for fat! Prices vary depending on your geographic location, the amount of liposuction to be performed and the planned duration of the procedure.

The cost of this procedure is $4800.  This procedure is done safely with tumescent anesthesia and sedation.  The recovery is fast with minimum bruising.  There is small hidden incision of 5 mm to harvest the fat via liposculpture with small cannulas.  The entire abdomen can be sculptured and any other areas desired for contouring.  The fat is then transferred to areas desired.  The results are all dependent on precise injection techniques, instrumentation, and harvesting techniques.   Having performed this procedure for over 10 years, I see consistent, excellent and natural results time after time.

Yes, it's possible to achieve that Jennifer Lopez, sculpted buttock using your own fat that can be taken from the abdomen.

Buttock augmentation with your own fat allows you to get a natural more pleasing shape and contour to the backside by augmenting curves, correcting an imbalance or increasing size and prominence of the buttock.

Fat taken from the abdomen (stomach) can be used for this enhancement, so you get the benefit of reducing your stomach while you enhance your butt and all without implants, which can be painful.

Dear Kassy

Fat Transfer is an excellent technique to help wth shaping the body and to acheive an hourglass shape.

The procedure is basically a speacialized liposuction and the fat that is removed is prepared for injection. The fat is placed in multiple layers to add 'shape'- shape being the key word. The liposuction is not just for the harvesting but also the shaping to acheive the hourglass shape!

You will need a few days to recover- it will feel like you had a hard workout. Bruising can last 2 to 3 weeks. The small incisions for the fat harvest and injection are place in areas so that they are minimally visible.

On occasion you made need a little more fat added. to acheive a great result you will need to have enough fat for injection!

Good Luck.

With Warm Regards,
