Options for changing the appearance of the lips include filler injections, lip lifts, and others. The best choice depends on the patient's anatomy and the patient's desires/goals. An in-person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon who can review all of the surgical and non-surgical options with you in detail would be very helpful. All the best,
Hello and thank you for your question. Photos would be a great help in better assessing the issue at hand. There could be many reasons for disproportionate lips (i.e. bone structure, dental anatomy, tissue anatomy, etc.) and therefore, it is best to have a specialist give you an in-person consultation. Fillers can usually achieve a symmetric look with little downtime and can be more cost-effective than having surgery. Make sure to seek the advice of an experienced injector. Best of luck!
Mia. photos would help but sounds like I may recommend conservative lip augmentation with Hyaluronic Acid, like Juvederm Ultra plus to see if you like the look. Another option is fat transfer which is more permanent. It is done under local anesthesia and fat is usually taken from the lower abdomen or thighs. Studies show that at least 1/3 of transferred fat last forever. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area, Good Luck!
Without the benefit of a photo, I would guess that your upper lip has lengthened which is typical as someone ages. In addition the upper lip loses its volume. There are two different types of lip shortening. One requires shortening through an incision along the upper lip order and the other along the base of the nose. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure.
Hello Miahallen,To get an idea of what can be done either high quality photos or an in person examination would be needed. There are permanent and temporary options and different ways to go about correcting the mouth area. A lot of it depends on what everything looks like.I hope this helps and good luck.
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin, lips), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help win the evaluation. If the lip(s) are thin, they can be augmented using precise placement of a dermal filler or with a lip implant (permanent enhancement). From the way the question is phrased, it might be that your chin is actually weak. I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.
Good afternoon. Thanks for your message. I feel 5 days might be cutting things close if you tend to swell or bruise when you have filler treatments. This could compound discomfort for your dental procedure. I would recommend 7-10 days prior to dental procedures if...
I think you have nice lips to begin with and so very little filler will give you a nice result. I prefer Restylane, Restylane Silk and Restylane Defyne when treating the lips although Juvederm Ultra work well too.
The lumps and bumps can be muscle, fat, or a combination of both. Surgery such as lipo may be a bit severe for that area with the risk of more significant contour abnormalities. Non-surgical options such as filler can be used to camouflage the lower depressions so the transitions are more smooth...
