When can I try SMP after FUE into the scar?

Hi Doctors, I have an FUT strip scar from my first procedure in 2006. 2 years ago, I decided to have a small FUE procedure to conceal the linear scar (200 grafts). It helped camouflage the scar slightly, but I could only buzz my hair to a number 3, and alas I could still see the scar. Last week I had a 2nd FUE into the scar (150 grafts). My question is, how long should I wait to have SMP treatment into the scar for addressing my camouflage concerns (if still necessary)? Thank you! Blake

Cy2000, SMP works very well in appropriately selected patients. However, when it comes to  hiding scars the results can varied because of the scar tissue. If the scar is thick and raised it may not take the pigment well. Treatment to level the scar may be necessary before have ...

Jh5150, Thanks for the question. So sorry to hear about your experience. Trico-pigmentation occurs at a very superficial level usually .5 mm. It can be performed after the scalp has heal sufficiently. It is best to consult with an experienced hair loss physician.  All the best,Bernardino A. ...

F.rest123,It is best to visit your local hair restoration specialist who can evaluate  your condition and make short and long term treatment plan.A mild case of cutis verity gyrata should be amenable to smp.
