Can sitting for long periods of time after a BBL cause problems?

Thank you for your question, at 8 months sitting for prolonged amounts of time should not affect the outcome of your BBL. Generally up to 50% of the fat injected into the buttocks survives and the your results 4-6 month post-op is often permanent.

Thank you for your question. At this time it shouldn't be a problem.  The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells. The fat that survives after the surgery is there permanently. 

In my experience, the volume of the buttocks that is present at 4 to 6 weeks is the volume that stays. About 50% of the fat injected obtains permanence. This will be dependent to some extent on surgical technique and the result the surgeon typically generates. The buttocks will only decrease in size if a significant portion of your overall body fat stores are lost. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for your question. In a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, not all of the fat transferred survives, part of it dies in the process. It is hard to estimate how much because it can vary. Fat also weighs very little, so you may not notice a difference in your weight.

When fat is moved from one part of your body to another, much of it will not make the transfer and will die.   Rarely will you see persistent results one or two years after a Brazilian Butt Lift.   If you want predictable and long lasting results, consider a buttocks implant procedure.
