Is it possible to remove fat from my vagina?

Hello sky 4117,  thank you for your question!  From your description I think you have enlargement of the Mons or  Suprapubic area. This is particularly problematic for  A lot of women!  We see it frequently  following multiple pregnancies.  Traditionally we have corrected enlargement of the Mons area due to fatty accumulation with liposuction. The vagina is the canal that leads from outside your body to the cervix; it does not get fat. What I think you may be referring to is the mons pubis – the area located in the pubic triangle below your belly button and above your vulva. In some women, this “mountain” (mons) can be quite large and fatty. In such cases, liposuction may be able to help. You may also want to consider noninvasive fat-elimination techniques, such as Vanquish, CoolSculpting and ThermiTight. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can evaluate your body to see if your issue can be resolved with liposuction or a less invasive permanent fat-removal technique.

Hello and thank you for your question. It sounds like this issue is making you very self conscious. There are a few things that can be done, however, it depends on what you actually mean by your "vagina." I am assuming you mean 1 out of 2 things. Either you are talking about the area right above the vaginal (pubic region) called the Mons-pubis or you are talking about the actual Labia Majora which are the large swellings on either side of the vaginal opening. Either way, these to anatomical structures can be liposuctioned. Now, the only thing is, with the pubis lipo may not take care of the entire problem because you may have loose or extra skin and in this case would need a pubis lift or even a full abdominoplasty. It sounds like you have some fat in the area above your vagina?  This is the area typically known as the mons, and it is fairly straightforward to do liposuction on this area to remove the fat.  If you're talking about the labia specifically, then the best option is a labiaplasty.

I Recommend You  a Vaginoplasty. The aim of vaginoplasty is to tone the vaginal muscle, resulting in greater strength and ability to contract. I think what you are likely referring to is the mons area. Yes, this area can be addressed. You can have liposuction, however I my experience this area is resistant to effective liposuction and is best corrected by excision, usually during a tummy tuck. 

Liposuction should definitely address the problem. See a board certified plastic with an expertise in body contouring in your area for a detailed consultation. They should be able to answer your concerns more specifically. In my practice in the San Francisco Bay Area I have come to the conclusion that the happiest patients are those that have realistic expectation on what a procedure will and won’t do for them.
