I have performed well over 2,000 abdominal liposuction procedures and have never used compression stockings. I do not even know of any Plastic Surgeons who use them. My recommendation is an abdominal compression garment for 24 hours a day for two weeks then 12 hours a day for two weeks along with immediate ambulation. With this technique excellent results can be provided, and I have never had a deep vein thrombosis (I assume that is why your doctor has required you to use the stockings)

The length of period that a patient will wear a compression stockings after abdominal liposuction will vary depending on the surgeon's preferences, the patient's healing ability, and the scope of the surgery.
