Had Lipo done a month ago, what can be done about scars?

At one month post-liposuction, you are still early in the middle of the healing process for your scars. If you want an improvement in two weeks, you will need to be evaluated to determine if there is a laser and/or topical therapy that can help.
 
Your scars will improve over time as long as you treat them with an appropriate topical silicone-based product, wear sunscreen and protect them with clothing when you are outdoors. They can also be improved with combination therapy that may include a variety of lasers. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can evaluate your scars after they have healed sufficiently.

hello hakunamatata7182  Patient’s scars will mature following surgery; they may be red or raised for the first few months, but after 6–12 months they will soften, lighten, and become less noticeable. Dear hakunamatata7182,it can take up to 12-18 months for scars to fully heal. You should keep your scar protected from the sun, use sunscreen, silicone scar gel, laser therapy can make them less visible. You can consult with your plastic surgeon.

Red scars can be improved with a combination of silicone gel with growth factors, lasers (ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam), Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Although scars are the body's normal way of healing the wounds, they often cause limitations of function or are aesthetically unacceptable.
The medical criterion for the treatment of a scar can be completely different if it is to correct a functional defect caused by the cicatrizque if it is to improve an aesthetically unacceptable situation.
In the first case, it may be indicated to act precociously on the scar in order to preserve the function that the scar has affected. In the second, it is always advisable to wait until the time necessary for the cicatricial maturation (which is usually never less than six months) has elapsed and allows a correct evaluation of the true aesthetic sequelae produced by the scar and the possibility of Obtain a real improvement through a surgical procedure. It is not uncommon for many scars to improve so much over time that a surgical procedure is unnecessary.

There are silicone gels and tape that will help improve the appearance of your scar but probably not in two weeks. However speak with your surgeon about your options. Also, keep in mind that it can take up to a year for a scar to fully resolve so be patient. Lasers can help, definitely, and sunscreen is essential. Best of luck.

Hello,Thank you for your inquiry, since you scars are new, it will take time for them to reduce and be less visual. Unfortunately, there is nothing to reduce the redness in a matter of two weeks. I often give my patients creams in order to reduce the appearance of the scars, but like I mentioned earlier, it will not improve in only two weeks. The only thing I can suggest is hiding the scars with some make-up for your anniversary event.I hope this answer helps you.Have a nice day!

    At about one month after liposuction, it is normal for your scars to be red and visible.  Other than using a camouflage makeup, nothing will improve the appearance for your anniversary in two weeks.  Topical scar products can work well if used faithfully.  Lasering the scars will not improve their appearance by two weeks.  Good luck.

Hi everybody. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make lipo scars less visible?
Typically, we would recommend "ScarGel" which has some silicone along with some other ingredients for improved healing. If you are genetically structured to form bad scars, then you may need something else in addition down the road such as a steroid shot into the area.  One other method gaining popularity is stem cell injections into the scar.  This is not proven with research, but may become significant in the future.
I had it done a month ago, everything has healed ok but scars are very red and visible(naturally) I have anniversary in 2 weeks and was hoping to do something about them.
Redness is a part of the healing process.  Only time can improve the redness substantially but...depending on your laser technician and the appearance of the scar, laser can be beneficial.  I would try it on one of the scars that is in an area that can be concealed as a test treatment.  If it improves then get the rest zapped!
