Can you put nose filler inside the skin of the nostrils? (Photos)

Question

I plan to get nose fillers to define my bridge as opposed to surgical rhinoplasty. But I also wish to to have nose fillers in the skin of my nostrils to reduce the roundness of my nostril to look less ethnic I guess. Is this possible? Has it been done before? Has it been successful in the past? Is this recommended for my specific features? Thanks in advance for answering these questions I really appreciate it.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (Voluma, Restylane, Juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. However, surgery would be needed for the nostrils/shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Since you appear to have a broad and flat nasal appearance, with relatively thick nasal skin, I'm not convinced that injectable fillers would be pleasing for you. Adding fillers may lead to a wider nasal appearance on front view. Rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for achieving narrowing in the upper middle and lower thirds of your nose, along with bridge augmentation. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Hi. Fillers can be used to camouflage humps on the bridge or build up the bridge or tip. They cannot be used to narrow or define the nostrils. That needs to be done with surgery. However I commonly perform alar base resections to reduce nostril size under local anesthesia in the office. It is a minor procedure and can be combined with a nonsurgical rhinoplasty with fillers. Placement of fillers in the nose is only temporary, will not define the bridge, is not FDA approved, and can have significant complications such as skin necrosis. A surgical rhinoplasty is required  to narrow the bridge line with osteotomies, add dorsal height with cartilage graft, and narrow wide nostrils with an alar- plasty.
