Can you put nose filler inside the skin of the nostrils? (Photos)

Hi. Fillers can be used to camouflage humps on the bridge or build up the bridge or tip. They cannot be used to narrow or define the nostrils. That needs to be done with surgery. However I commonly perform alar base resections to reduce nostril size under local anesthesia in the office. It is a minor procedure and can be combined with a nonsurgical rhinoplasty with fillers.  Placement of fillers in the nose is only temporary, will not define the bridge, is not FDA approved, and can have significant complications such as skin necrosis. A surgical rhinoplasty is required  to narrow the bridge line with osteotomies, add dorsal height with cartilage graft, and narrow wide nostrils with an alar- plasty. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (Voluma, Restylane, Juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. However, surgery would be needed for the nostrils/shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
