Nose turned up after rhinoplasty

Question

Hello. I'm 12 days post-op, and I'm a little concerned. The tip of my nose appears to be turned up too much. I'm getting relief reading that this is common? I hope so. I hope it was intended and not a mishap. It just doesn't look right at all. The picture with the blue background is what I was told my nose would look like. The other picture is where I'm at today. Is there hope that my nose will look like the picture with the blue background? Or, are we looking at a revision? Thanks for the time.

after rhinoplasty you can expect the tip to be slightly elevated due to swelling assicated with the surgery. It can take several months or even a year for this swelling to resolve. The tip can be expected to drop a few millimeters during that time.

Hello Yng14,At 12 days post operatively it is very common for the nose to be slightly turned up.  The reason is the area around the upper lip gets some swelling which causes the nose to push up.  As the swelling goes down the nose tends to drop by a few millimeters.  Make sure you keep following up with your surgeon and not thinking about revision in your first two weeks from a surgery.  I hope this helps and good luck.

It is too early to comment on the possible final outcome of your rhinoplasty. It is not uncommon to see some over-turned or rotated tip after rhinoplasty due to taping etc. I would give it some time and review your concerns with your surgeon on your next visit.
