I was told I have 2 small inguiunial hernias and I think I have an incisional hernia right under my appendectomy scar. They are all reducible and mostly with no visible bump. I can feel the a bulge but it comes and goes. There has been a great deal of discomfort lately and want to get it fixed locally in Houston TX but I really do not want to use any mesh. I have Blue cross/blue shield insurance and was wondering if there are any doctors out there that do any non-mesh techniques

Hello dear, thank you for your questions. You need to wait at least 5-6 months to see the final results of your surgery, it's normal that it's still swollen, you can contact your Plastic surgeon so he can examínate you in person just to elimínate any doubts on the presence of serosa. Good luck!
With your history a colonic hydro cleanse 3 or 4 days before the date of surgery, a low residue diet 2 days before the date of the surgery and a Fleets Enema the night before surgery would be advantageous. This is my opinion. Please do check with your surgeon if this recommendation does not go...
This looks like a hypertrophic scar which is a wide scar. If you have any interest in making it a finer scar, I would speak to a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss scar revision.
