Which procedure would be the best for targeting my jaw and neck area? (photos)

I m currently interviewing doctors bout my next neck and jawline. I have been told 2 different procedures but would like more opinions on what my be my best procedure with the best results, that's not going to cost a lot and with minimal downtime.

As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in loss of skin strength and elasticity. For tissue tightening, Ultherapy is ideal for the lower face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Morpheus8 to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity.

If you’re hoping for something with little downtime and more budget-friendly, there are non-surgical treatments like Kybella (which dissolves fat under the chin) or skin-tightening options like radiofrequency (Morpheus8, FaceTite) or Ultherapy. These can give a nice, subtle lift, though they often take a few sessions, and the results aren’t as dramatic as surgery.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a one-and-done, longer-lasting change, a neck lift or lower facelift is still the gold standard. It’s definitely more invasive and costly, but it gives the most noticeable, lasting improvement.

Somewhere in the middle is liposuction under the chin and jawline—this can slim the area nicely if your skin is still firm enough, but if there’s extra looseness, it may need to be paired with a tightening treatment.

At the end of the day, the “best” option really depends on how dramatic of a change you’d like, how much downtime you’re open to, and what feels comfortable for you financially. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all here—it’s about finding the balance that feels right for you.

Your main problem would be what we would consider a relatively oblique neck, meaning there is minimal angulation to the neck from this side. This is really fixed best by an open contouring procedure such as a neck lift. However, this will include some downtime and will cost more than minimally or moderately invasive options. Minimally or moderately invasive options, like FaceTite, will cost less and provide a good result, but will not be as dramatic as a neck lift.

In your case, it would be best to combine a chin implant and a neck lift. A neck lift alone may not give a spectacular effect because your chin is slightly receding.A cheaper alternative, which may give a less satisfactory effect, is jaw contouring with hyaluronic acid and the use of lifting threads.

To make a quality assessment, we would need to know your age.Procedures like Liposuction don’t do well as people get older.The primary cause for your facial appearance and the lower 1/3 of your face and neck is due to facial skeletal structure. When the man is small in relationship to the maxilla, it doesn’t have enough foundation to support the tissues.This creates premature aging in the lower part of the face with typical loss of jawline definition, potential double chin, and jowl formation. If you look at individuals who have a prominent mandible, for example, George Clooney or CarmenDelOrafice you’ll see that these individuals maintain high-quality facial aesthetics of the lower part of the face and neck into middle age. Liposuction works well for young individuals, but does not work well as people get older.I typically do not do liposuction on individuals over the age of 50 and those who are approaching the age of 50 should be warned that the procedure can cause skin problems and may not deliver the results patients had hoped for.A neck lift a.k.a. face lift it’s probably the best treatment and I’m guessing is the treatment most providers would recommend.Your chin could benefit from moderate augmentation. the problem is further back in your mandible and chin augmentation would not be sufficient by itself.The cost of a facelift varies quite a bit, depending on who you go to.It’s not a procedure you want done by those who are beginners or don’t have extensive experience.Plastic surgeons who are really talented at facelift surgery typically demand higher prices.Some of the very best facelift surgeons may charge upwards of $40,000 for the procedure.Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes that is not true.I would say that really high-quality providers rarely give discount surgery.I’m not a fan of mini facelifts or alternate interpretations of time proven classic procedures.
