My implants are approaching 15 yrs old. I have had no problems, but recently my rt implant flips at night. No pain and goes back in place very easily. I have also gained weight and wondering if the weight gain could be the cause? I am financially unable to have them removed or additional surgery.

Answer: Implant flipping Breast implants, especially the round smooth type, move around in the pocket and if you are very thin, they may flip without significantly changing the shape of your breast. This usually does not create a significant problem, but certainly can be corrected, (if it bothers you) by changing to a textured device or tightening the pocket around the implant, (capsulopexy, or mastopexy). Good luck to you.

Answer: Flipping implant While it is not ideal, there is nothing dangerous about an implant that flips. This can usually be corrected with either a change in implant size, a modification of the pocket, or some combination of the two. There is no urgency, so get it addressed whenever your finances allow.
