I have been recommended by a few plastic surgeons as well as estheticians to get micro needling for my pitted acne scars. However, I thought that estheticians are not allowed to penetrate the skin at certain depths. Am I better off seeing a doctor or esthetician for micro needling?

There is no comparison between these procedures. I do them together to get even better results and do microneedling between laser treatments for rejuvenation and long term maintenance. I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in combination treatments. Best, Dr. Emer.
