Answer: Skin Resurfacing Skin resurfacing can be done at many different levels.Spas normally do very superficial resurfacing.Surgeons/dermatologists are capable of much deeper resurfacing. Based on your question and desire for CO2 I am guessing you want a deeper resurfacing. In this category you have CO2 (fractionated and NL) and Sciton (Erbium YAG). Both can give excellent results depending on your skin type.Pic of lift + Full face laser resurfacing 12 days post laser is the link

Answer: CO2 laser skin resurfacing Hi Daisy, Not all skin resurfacing procedures are the same, even among CO2 laser use. However the type of laser used is less important - many CO2 lasers have a similar capability but vary in add-ons such as cooling or pattern. What matters more is how the settings are selected to achieve your goals, while also minimizing the risk of adverse effects. It's important for your provider to set the appropriate expectations for you, the result you can expect, and the recovery time associated with that. The depth of penetration of the laser can vary greatly, and therefore the results, but also the recovery time. Your provider should give you clear instructions on how to take care of your skin during the recovery time, and you need to follow these closely to assure optimal healing and thus the desired outcome. I suggest you seek a consultation with an MD, with whom you can discuss several different options for addressing skin changes - if your primary concern is pigmentation or brown spots, for example, a different treatment may be better suited for you. Good luck with your search!

Answer: Co2 laser resurfacing Hi diane1900. Co2 laser treatments are great for improving skin texture, wrinkles, scars, uneven skin tone/pigment issues. My patients typically have pink skin for about a week, however the recovery is otherwise relatively uneventful. My patients never have scabbing or crusting. You really need an in person consultation to determine whether the laser is the right treatment for you. Good luck. Best, Dr H

Answer: Where to go for best CO2 laser resurfacing in Houston? Hello Diane1900,When it comes resurfacing, whether it is lasers, chemical peels, or dermabrasion, choosing the right physician is important. With any resurfacing procedure you will have downtime. The greater your signs of aging, the deeper the treatment needs to be, and the longer the healing afterwards. There are also limitations immediately afterwards regarding what you can put on your skin and be around. Failure to follow the restrictions can lead to prolonged healing and in some cases scarring. I cannot speak to which photos you had seen regarding problems, but every procedure has risks. When the treatment is from the right provider and you follow the post operative instructions, you can significantly minimize those risks and get some amazing results. If you are wanting a CO2 laser, you mentioned who has the best equipment. Each company that makes lasers has a CO2 laser, and they are all quite effective. Some have the ability to create more patterns, cool the skin, suction the smoke, and other bells and whistles which people will tout to help separate their laser from others, but in the end the actual technology doing the treatment is the same from each company. Before getting your heart set on CO2 laser, it is important to be evaluated. Not everyone is a candidate for lasers and there may be a better treatment for the sign of aging that is bothering you. I'd recommend you consult with a facial plastic surgeon who offers multiple resurfacing options (such as lasers and chemical peels) so you can learn the pros and cons to each, make sure you are an appropriate candidate, and if you aren't, learn about the treatment that would be best for you.I hope this helps and good luck.
