I am very sorry to hear about the complications you had post breast augmentation.  The good news, in general, is that this type of multiple complication is very rare in aesthetic plastic surgery.  On the other hand, the bad news is that it happened to you.The cost of an open capsulectomy/capsulotomy depends on the region you reside in, the cost of the anesthesiologist, operating room,  and the implant you choose and whether your plastic surgeon plans to use ADM or Seri to decrease the chance of a recurrent capsular contracture.  Because you had such unfortunate luck with surgery up to this time, I recommend you get a complete workup by a qualified internist to be sure the problem was caused by the surgery and not some medical condition that you may have such as some form of clotting disorder.  Finally, I suggest you have a heart to heart discussion with your plastic surgeon to be sure both of you feel this surgical relationship continues to have legs.  All plastic surgeons have problems of this nature.  Whether it is just bad luck or not, it is hard to say.  Given a second chance, most of us will step up to the plate and do the best conceivable surgery, but of course, the final decision is up to you.

Sorry to hear that you had two hematoma after breast augmentation.  Hematoma can increase the risk for capsular contracture.  Based on your photo and description, you would need capsulectomy and implant exchange.  Your plastic surgeon would be the best person to talk to as he/she has operated you already and understands your body.  Your plastic surgeon should have his/her financial policy regarding revision surgery.  Please share your concern/question with your plastic surgeon.Best wishes.

Sorry to hear about your implant issues. Contractures can be frustrating to deal with. There is a slight possibility that your health insurance would help to cover the cost of you procedure, especially given the appearance and any associated main you might be having. Having a plastic surgeon send in a letter to you insurance for pre-authorization would be the only option. The chance of success would be low, but given your financial circumstances, it might be worth a try.You would first want to check with your insurance company to see if capsulectomy or capsulotomy are covered benefits. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure ( quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider, type of breast implants… are some of the potential variables involved. Multiple complications such as the two hematoma you have experienced, and the current capsular contracture is rare, however it is possible for some to be more prone to complications. Unfortunately, unless there is a specific health issue which has been revealed or discovered prior to surgery, it is difficult to predict ahead of time which patient may be more prone to complications. It's as frustrating to doctors as it is for the patients because in an ideal world we would wish to be able to forewarn any patient who may be at higher risk. I agree with Dr. Blinski (Miami) that an evaluation is necessary and it would be worth trying to determine why you may have had the bleeding issue.Capsular contracture costs vary from State to State, and even between areas within a particular State. It is best to find out what is average for your area if you are concerned that you are paying too much. When doctors perform revision surgeries some are willing to reduce or perhaps even eliminate their own fees, but cannot do so for surgery center/operating room fees or anesthesia fees. You might need to explore patient financing options which would allow you to pay the fees over time.
