Had a bbl 5 weeks ago. Today I started feeling a pain in left butt cheek. Should I be concerned with infection?

I've always felt tingling every now and then in both cheeks but today this pain came and never left. I have no lumps but is nice round and even I have no temp right now and feel fine is this normal ?

Just have to be very attentive to that pain. Sometimes it is just part of the swelling and healing process. The pain if continues is something to be careful of,  if increases, or adds something else like fever, a red or hard spot. Be encouraged. Rest and observe. Dr. Cardenas

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal; but please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Pain at this stage in the recovery period is not atypical, though if it continues for more than one day I would recommend having it checked out by your plastic surgeon.

Any kind of pain or discomfort is not uncommon with any given procedure, not just a brazilian butt lift. Take some medication, and if the pain persists for more than a day, call your plastic surgeon urgently and allow him to examine it.

Occasional pain, or discomfort is not uncommon within several weeks of the surgery; however, I recommend having your surgeon examine it.  Infections are very uncommon.

I think that at 5 weeks post BBL having weird sensory changes is not all that uncommon. This often coincides with the dissipation of swelling. If concerned, see your surgeon.

Infection at five weeks after BBL is fairly unusual as this would occur earlier on.  Similarly infection without redness, asymmetric swelling, and fever would be fairly unusual.  I would touch base with your plastic surgeon but I suspect he/she will tell you to monitor it at this time and see if any of the other symptoms of infection arise or if the pain subsides.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
