7 months post-op should I get a revision rhinoplasty with the same surgeon? (Photos)

I received a rhinoplasty about 7 months ago. My surgeon is an ENT without many online public reviews. She agreed she was too conservative, and was working on there septoplasty and maximizing turbinates. I was in surgery over 6 hours so she didn’t get enough time for table photos. I feel uncomfortable about this because my nose looks like different profiles on each side with a saddle nose looking deformity very upset.

We have been specializing in cosmetic and functional nasal surgery for 25 years, and the amount of time it takes to perform a rhinoplasty with both functional and cosmetic maneuvers is closer to 2 1/2 hours. Since your surgery was protracted, perhaps you have excess swelling. The best advice is to procure a copy of your operative report and to meet with several reputable rhinoplasty specialist so you can see where you are and what to expect moving forward. A revision rhinoplasty is a hugely complicated affair. The vast majority of rhinoplasty surgeons cannot accomplish it with expertise. If your surgeon is inexperienced, and the results are this far from your original goals, she would have no prayer of getting it right in the second try, which is so much more challenging. You need to find an expert to proceed. Read my essay in the link I posted with this answer for advice on how to tell whether you should be going back to your original surgeon for a revsion.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, it does look like you may benefit from a revision surgery in the future. If you are not comfortable with your surgeon doing this, then I would definitely not recommend proceeding forward with them. You should be able to see hundreds of longterm before and after pictures on your surgeon’s website . The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
