Do I still have inflammation/swelling at 6 months post-op? (Photos)

I had 360 lipo done. I am 6 months post op. Does it look like I still have inflammation and or swelling? If so, do you think this is the cause of my wrinkled skin and bloated look? Any recommendations besides exercising and eating healthy. I am doing that already. I am concerned this is my final result or close to it. I opted out of a tummy tuck.

this was poorly performed liposuction for which you were not a candidate. you needed a tummy tuck given the loose skin and stretch marks you had before your procedure. You will need a revision procedure to help improve this.  I suggest you consult with an expert. Hello @Vivid2861 Thank you for your question and showing your picture. The thing about your case is that you needed a tummy tuck as well. There is an excess of skin and the abdomen wall needs tightening that's why the results are not satisfactory to you. Liposuction alone won't get rid of loose skin in the abdominal area or tightening the muscles. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and strengthens the abdominal muscles, in which there is abdominal lipolysis, abdominal diastasis repair, skin removal with umbilical reconstruction, and a liposuction is the extraction of fat from a particular area of the body, in this case the abdomen (abdominal lipolysis). On the other hand liposculture we take out fat from all parts of the body to make it more harmonious. Is important that you are clear with your specialist in the results that you seek. Best wishes!

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hey! You would definitely be perfect for a tummy tuck. Your pictures show a great deal of stress and wrinkles on the abdomen. These are excess skin that can be removed and a tummy tuck would strengthen the area. There is not much of dieting and liposuction can prevent from this from staying, you are still have room for improvement with a tummy tuck with a board certified plastic surgeon specialized in tummy tuck and you should have a nice and successful surgery. Look into the before and after of these surgeries and you will the difference and get the idea of how a tummy tuck can benefit your skin and overall complexation. Before anything, please have the doctor clear you before going into surgery.

I don't anticipate you are going to see much improvement at this stage.  You need a tummy tuck to remove excess fat and skin as well as correct the abdominal wall laxity.  That is what will give you the best improvement.

Unfortunately, you were a better candidate for an abdominoplasty as a primary procedure.

While you are certainly much thinner post Lipo 360, your issues now are excess skin leaving you with wrinkling and irregularity.  An abdominoplasty would remove the skin, tighten your muscles and round out your umbilicus.

Thank you for posting good before and after pictures. I wish all patients would take notice and follow suit.

The truth is you were not a good candidate for Liposuction and had to come to my office for a consultation I would’ve told you so.

We’re making an assessment on someone’s abdomen plastic surgeons look at four separate variables.
Each of these valuables can contribute to abdominal shape and contour.

They are abdominal skin laxity typically from previous pregnancies or a weight fluctuations, Thickness of subcutaneous fat(The fat you can pinch between skin and muscle), muscle separation from previous pregnancies called diastasis recti, excess visceral fat or intra-abdominal fat(fat around our internal organs that cannot be removed with surgery).

I believe you have all four of these and all four of them are contributing.

Liposuction only reduces subcutaneous fat.

If you then also have skin laxity, muscle separation and excess visceral fat Liposuction isn’t going to do all that much since it’s partially treating 1/4 of the problem.

The correct procedure for you would’ve been a full tummy tuck which is what you should’ve had.

Even with a tummy tuck your results would be limited because you have exes visceral fat and your abdomen would’ve still been bulging even with good muscle tightening.

At six months your results have been final for quite a while and I’m not going to change further by giving it more time.

Your liposuction was not done particularly well but the biggest issue is that you were not a great candidate for Liposuction in the first place.

The best way to get a good looking abdomen is to go back and have the correct procedure done which is a full tummy tuck.

You should however lose a substantial amount of weight before doing the tummy tuck or the results will be limited.

The good news is that the worst part of your liposuction was done in the lower abdomen and this skin and fat will be thrown away during a tummy tuck.

Alternatively you can accept the results as they are and start working on weight loss.

Either way you need to lose weight.
Losing weight is not just about eating healthy. It’s about eating “less” healthy food(as in cut down your portion sizes)
