Eye still puffy 15 months after fall - how can I improve this? (Photos)

Hello 40s white male good health . I had a bad fall 15 months ago landed on my eye on sidewalk. It was badly bruised and got a small linear flat scar that has since faded… but the puffiness did not get better . I had MRI 6 weeks after fall and nothing was broken . Report came back with soft tissue Edema in eye socket . I have since gone to eye doctors and derms and have been given zero guidance or treatment . Only 1 suggestion was possible it is lymphatic fluid and to use eye roller . It’s not hard and doesn’t hurt . Just puffy and when press on it it’s soft . Any thoughts ? Thank you

I encourage you to visit with a facial plastic surgeon for a more in depth analysis of the damage as well as potential treatments.  Be sure that the surgeon you see board certified.  The ASPS website can help you in your search.

You had trauma over a year ago. You indicated that you bruised. Even without a broken bone, these deep eyelid tissue can be permanently rearranged. Likely this change in eyelid volume is caused by such a rearrangement. Stop using a roller on this area. That is an absurd suggestion. If the asymmetry bothers you enough, consider being evaluated for potential eyelid surgery by a fellowship trained Oculoplastic surgeon. There is no substitute for a detailed in person assessment.

Eyelid tissue is the thinnest in the body, and sometimes swelling can persist for some time. Additionally, MRI is not the best technology for evaluating a bony fracture. CT scanning is better.
