Debating on sizes 345cc or 365cc for 36B. I'm 125 lbs, 5’1" (Photo)

Question

I am debating between sizes, I left my pre op signing on 385 but I keep thinking back that this will look huge on me the more I think about it. I have attached a picture of my exact wish pic, and me trying on 400+ implants at an older appt. My man goals are to improve my shape to a nice circular shape with cleavage for low cut shirts like in the picture. The nurse recommended 385 just to get center cleavage however this seems absurd..Please help :(

Hello thank you for your question. The implant size is usually based on the width of your breast on the chest wall. Implants do not change the shape of your breast tissue. Implants add volume to what you have. I suggest bringing those wish pics to your next appointment. This will give you a better idea of what you are getting. You should seek in person consultation with your plastic surgeon and go over the options once again. check out our website for some more knowledge and before and after photos.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Sounds like you're not ready for 385cc, so why not go with the 365cc? The 345cc seems a bit too small, so I think the 365cc may be perfect!

I appreciate your concern, because size does matter when seeking a natural looking result in breast augmentation. I ask my patients to bring in photos of breasts the size they desire, because there can otherwise be confusion because B or C cup can vary greatly by brassiere manufactures! 
I also utilize the implant in the bra technique, with several different implant sizes with a tighter fitting T-shirt to get an idea of what you will look like. Finally, I prefer to meet with my breast implant patients at least twice before surgery, so I am confident that I know exactly what her desires regarding shape and size are. I then have several sized implants in the patient's desired range available in the OR to allow me to tailor the operation to fit her needs. 
Be certain your surgeon understands your desires and you should do great as this operation carries a very high satisfaction rate. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck

At size 36 B, each 200 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. 385 cc implants will take you up 2 cup sizes. If your main goal is to increase your cleavage then I recommend a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed totally submuscular.

Dear abrivilla,
breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

You should be able to achieve your stated goals with any of the sizes you are considering.  The 20cc difference is less than 2 tablespoons, so the effect once implants are placed in the body will not be very noticeable.  I encourage you to return to your surgeon's office to further discuss your concerns as it seems you are uncomfortable with the 385cc.  Be sure you are discussing the profile of the implants as well which will make a difference.  I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

There is less than a tablespoon difference between the two sizes, so go with the larger size, especially if your implants will be placed behind the muscle.  If need be, try both on to be sure.

While a formal consultation would be necessary to completely help you, moving from a 385 to a 365 is a very small change and you should be fine to make the change if you desire.  Continue to work with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to address these concerns before surgery.
