The day of the injection i could feel the filler in the NLF and see the difference. Only 1 syringe. But 2 days later it had moved above the NLF into the cheek and looked puffy. I was told it was swelling wait a week. I did and it was the same. The injector said it is rare but it did migrate so she used hyaluronidase and it worked. But now what do I do? She does not want to reinject me because is afraid it will happen again. Does this mean I cannot get juvederm? Is there another filler I should use
Answer: Migration of Juvederm Juvederm is a soft dermal filler that is great to work with. What some patients may experience is the product going beyond the area initially targeted due to the hydrophilic properties. Another reason is just the way your anatomy is. Some patients do have unique structures in their smile and face that creates pulling towards a certain direction.Mention to your providers what has happened to your previously so that they can place it strategically. Another option is to use Restylane/Perlane which is a firmer product and may not soften due to physiological pull or swell.

Answer: Juvederm voluma is a great product. Juvederm voluma is a great product. There are many variables as to why the product migrated. Ensure you sleep on your back for 3 nights after treatment. Teosyal also makes great products, you may want to discuss your options with an expert injector. Hope this helps.

Answer: Properly Injected Fillers And Volumizers Do Not Typically "Migrate" First I am sorry that you were disappointed with your recent results with Juvederm for your nasolabial folds. Personally, I have been injecting this region for over thirty years, since the days of the original collagen injections. In all that time, I have never personally seen any of the temporary and semipermanent fillers, including Juvederm, "migrate."By contrast, I have seen swelling due to either water attraction within the tissue by hyaluronic acid fillers, like Juvederm, as well as simply from the trauma of the injections and/or the massage needed to mold and shape the material immediately after injection. Such edema can last well more than a week in some cases, so the use of hyaluronidase at such an early stage for treating the persistent swelling you describe above the injection location within the nasolabial fold, in my opinion, was ill-advised and premature.Gratifying aesthetic results following the injection of fillers is heavily dependent upon the skill and expertise of the physician injector. Although I generally prefer Perlane L for treating smile lines, owing to what I have found to be its superior lift, I would not be at all surprised that another round of Juvederm would work just fine for you if injected by a board certified aesthetic core physician with experience and expertise in properly injecting fillers and volumizing agents.

Answer: Migration of Juvederm Thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Juvederm. Based on your description, I suspect your results were due to a technical error of the injection and not the product itself. There are several other products similar to Juvederm that you could try if you are concerned (Belotera, Restylane, Perlane, etc.). Regardless of the product you choose, I would make sure that you consult with an experienced physician for your next injection.Best Regards,Dr. Stutman

Answer: Juvederm for nasolabial folds Please consult an experienced physician injector. Most of us use several different fillers and can choose which product would be best for each individual patient to achieve the best possible result.
