I see so many posts about this issue. My hump is reduced but still apparent. I was expecting a straight bridge but I feel like I’m $7000 shorter and my nose looks the same. The sides of the bumps are hard to the touch. Please advise.
Answer: Post Op Facelift At six weeks post op there is still a significant amount of swelling present. The determination of whether this is a residual hump or not should not be made for several months as the swelling needs to subside. If the result does not meet your preoperatively discussed expectations then a conversation with your surgeon is obviously in order at the time of swelling resolution. There is a solution to this type of problem but I recommend patience for now. Best of Luck,

Answer: 6-weeks post-op? Rhinoplasty Results You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. It can take up a year for your final results. I hope this helps.

Answer: Residual Hump You are still going to be swollen at 6 weeks, so there is a possibility that what you are seeing is due to swelling. I would discuss this with your surgeon in the interim. He or she will know exactly what was done in your surgery and whether you can expect resolution of this hump.

Answer: Dorsal Hump There can still be significant swelling at 6 weeks, even if it feels firm there is callous formation and bone remodeling ongoing. You should wait a full 12 even 18 months and then reassess the potential need for revision at that point. I take immediate post op photos to show my patients the amount of hump removal as seen on the table. Perhaps your surgeon has something like this which may help answer your question for now. Best of luck!
