The answer to your question is yes, your skin should return to its normal appearance and texture as you recover from the rhinoplasty. As the swelling subsides and the tapes/splints come off, the oil in your skin will not be produced as much and will not accumulate as much. This process takes several weeks to be noticed. While healing from the rhinoplasty, the skin metabolism is much higher, which can make acne flare up. The good news is that is will go back to normal but it will take time. I tell my patients that in the first 6 weeks, they should not get a facial that works on the nose itself. I know it is tough dealing with this acne but it will get better! About 80% of the swelling is gone at 12 weeks post-op. It takes another 9 months for the remaining 20% of swelling to go away, but the changes will be extremely subtle at from here on out. The tip will likely not drop much at this point. Hope this helps.
