Yes, this is normal. Having a cast on for a week tends to clog pores which can cause an increase in acne and oil production. It may take several weeks but things will return to normal.
Dear janabelle 24,Thanks for the question. During the healing after rhinoplasty surgery due to nose cast and bandages there will be an increasing and acne an oil production on the skin. This will last an a few weeks. I wish you all the best.
The answer to your question is yes, your skin should return to its normal appearance and texture as you recover from the rhinoplasty. As the swelling subsides and the tapes/splints come off, the oil in your skin will not be produced as much and will not accumulate as much. This process takes several weeks to be noticed. Best of luck with your recovery.
While healing from the rhinoplasty, the skin metabolism is much higher, which can make acne flare up. The good news is that is will go back to normal but it will take time. I tell my patients that in the first 6 weeks, they should not get a facial that works on the nose itself. I know it is tough dealing with this acne but it will get better! I wish you success in your recovery!
