Interested in Sculptra butt lift for men, but I have questions... Is it true that at least 10 vials are needed?

Thank you for your question. Sculptra is primarily made from a poly-L-lactic (PLLA) acid compound. PLLA is a compound made by the body (especially right after exercise) to help firm muscles. Sculptra is injected into the target areas around the buttocks, contouring the shape, adding more fullness. Everybody is different and require different amounts fillers to achieve their desired look. Sculptra is not a replacement for a BBL, but it can be used off label for an initial butt or subtle hip augmentation or to enhance the appearance of a butt augmentation that a patient has had previously. It stimulates the body to create its own collagen. In the initial treatment several vials are injected into the butt or hip area. You will not see the full results for six weeks or longer.  And you will need several treatments to achieve the results you are seeking. It can be very expensive but has practically no down time.Consult with a board certified PS who can examine you and explain the pros and cons of Sculptra.

Sculptra was never designed for large volume augmentation, it was designed as a facial filler. It's a product that allows your body to form collagen around tiny resorbable crystals, and takes 10 weeks (not 6) to see a final result. When used off label as a buttock enhancer, I always say 10 vial minimum per cheek, or a total of 20 vials. I also tell my patients that you will get a VERY subtle result with 20 vials. Those that want more will need 40 to 80 vials. As you can imagine, this is very expensive, especially for a procedure that only gives year or two of results.

Sculptra butt injections can help add volume and lift the buttocks in those individuals (both men and women) that do not have enough fat for a traditional brazilian butt lift, or do not want to undergo a surgical procedure. It can also be used to fill in small areas of volume loss, including those after a BBL. Keep in mind that Sculptra butt lifts usually require multiple vials over multiple treatment sessions and results will never be as dramatic as a brazilian butt lift. Yes, 10 vials as a start is a common and good recommendation. From there, you observe the result and see if you need more or not depending on your goals. Sculptra unlike other fillers increases volume as it induces collagen production. So the solution itself is not the one that produces the added volume. The process relies on the body's natural collagen production. It induces the body to produce collagen.

Yes, Sculptra is used off label for gluteal augmentation both in men and women. Typically, 4-6 vials are required per session, and 2-3 sessions are usually required spaced apart at 1-2 month intervals. It takes time to see the results since Sculptra works by stimulating collagen production.

We have been using Sculptra in our practice for more than 20 years. Many men who simply do not have enough fat for BBL will decide on having Sculptra. The shape and the volume of the final result is decided during a careful examination and discussion with the patient.
