I don't mean lifting to become the next Schwarzenegger. Just for being in shape, looking healthy and not like a mountain of muscle. So does lifting without supplements speed up hair loss if it is in the family?

You can stop taking it and be evaluated by a urologist. It is likely however that you will have some hair loss by stopping the Propecia (finasteride). If you are not already using treatments I would consider minoxidil, PRP, or laser therapy.
My go to treatment regimen for alopecia areata is steroid injections directly into the area of loss, as well as minoxidil applied topically AND laser therapy.
