Some times during my day I find some hairs that are very fine and thin, they are about 4 cm. in a usual shed of 80-100 hairs, I say about 7 of them are these very fine hairs. Is this something that is normal?

Answer: Shedding In general, seeing some of those hairs isn't unusual. 7 out of 100 isn't a cause for concern- if you are worried though I'd recommend watching your hair closely. When/if this number begins increasing, that is when you should seek a professional examination by a specialist.

Answer: How many fine hairs should I have? Shedding of 80-100 hairs may be normal, but for many individuals does suggest abnormal shedding. A telogen effluvium needs to be ruled out. Other conditions can also cause shedding, including androgenetic alopecia. But yes, shedding of a proportion of small hairs is normal - usually less than 10%-15%
