you need a laser with multiple wavelengths to treat this type of color. Pico is the latest advance but isnt always the best and often needs to be combined with other lasers to get improvement. Please see an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. Red tones respond best to the 532 wavelength. I would recommend a Pico laser with this wavelength. My preference is the PiQo4 laser that has 4 Pico wavelengths including 532 making it possible to remove 96% of ink colors.Dr. Daniel Ritacca
Currently, PicoSure laser is the gold standard for removal of tattoos...ALL ink colors, including the traditionally stubborn red, orange or yellow pigment. PicoSure accomplishes complete tattoo removal in average 4-5 treatments and without scarring typically associated with other laser tattoo removal systems. Further, other lasers are typically unsuccessful at removing these brighter pigment colors altogether.Important to note that cosmetic tattoos (lip liner, eyebrow, eyeliner, etc) often have iron oxide in the ink. This type of ink may oxidize with your first laser treatment, which means that the ink may actually appear darker after 1 treatment. It then fades in subsequent treatments. If you're unhappy with a tattoo, locate a practice that offers PicoSure. You'll be happy that you did. Best of luck.
