I’m 25 years old with 3 children. I had a small pulmonary embolism back in October of 2015 due to birth control. I was put on blood thinners (xeralto) up until 6 months after as well as seeing a hematologist regularly. I have never had any complications since then and I don’t have any underlying blood clotting disorder. I’ve also had a breast augmentation last year with no complications. Would I still be considered a candidate for a tummy tuck? Please let me know. Thank you!

Answer: Considering a tummy tuck Your safety is always the number one priority in surgery, with this in mind there are a few extra steps for you. You will need to speak with your hematologist to get surgical clearance before being considered for a tummy tuck. Extra precautions will also need to be taken to ensure your safety during and after the procedure.

Answer: Tummy tuck candidate Dear _sammyslays, you will need to get a clearance from your hematologist prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
